Alberto Garcia was born in Mexico City, growing up in a household where music and art were held in high esteem. He was raised initially as a carpenter, and also learned to play the guitar. As a young man, he became involved with the music of his people (Ocoyoacac) eventually relocating to Xalapa, Veracruz to study music. It was here where he began to explore the physics of sound, along with a great interest in his Mexican heritage.
All of this gave birth to a career in instrument making and repair. Alberto first entered the field of violin making in 1992, apprenticing with the brothers Landa and Arael Nahum, luthiers in the Cremona School. During this time, Alberto was trained in all aspects of violin making.
In 1998, Alberto received the Creative CONACULTA -National Young Artists Award, in Xalapa, Mexico (First Place) for making children's instruments made for out of Mexican wood.

In Alberto's words:

My "new" instruments are particularly appreciated for their fine craftsmanship and marked personality.
Having carried out in-depth research into the field of physical acoustics of string instruments, I pay great attention to the sound quality of each one of my instruments

I have had the opportunity to try over 500 instruments with appreciable acoustic qualities; thanks to this experience I have adopted certain methods and techniques in the construction of my instruments that allow them to achieve the high level-performance qualities that so many musicians demand.
